The short version: there are no accounts, no ads, no tracking, no cookies, and no third-party analytics. The game doesn't know who you are and has no way to find out. What follows explains the small number of things our servers necessarily see in order to work, and what happens to them.
The game has no sign-up and no user accounts. We do not collect names, email addresses, precise locations, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or contact lists. We set no cookies. We run no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs — not on this website, not in the browser game, and not in the iOS app. We do not sell, share, or monetise data of any kind.
Your settings, unlocked riders, coins, and a cache of recently ridden map areas are stored in your browser's local storage (or the app's equivalent). This data never leaves your device and is deleted if you clear your browser data or remove the app.
Riding a location requires fetching map data for it, and the address you type must be turned into coordinates. That means:
Like any web servers, these services see the ordinary technical parts of an HTTP request (such as your IP address) for the duration needed to answer it. We do not record IP addresses. The third-party services above have their own privacy policies.
Our map server records aggregate technical metrics about the requests it serves: request counts, cache performance, response times, and a coarse client class (website, app, or test environment). These metrics contain no IP addresses, no device or user identifiers, no cookies, and no location or riding data. They cannot be linked to any individual and are deleted automatically within about 90 days. We use them to keep the map servers fast and to count how many sessions the game serves.
The iOS app collects nothing, which is what its App Store listing declares. It contains no analytics and no advertising. Its network requests are the map, terrain, and geocoding requests described above, answered in real time and not recorded — the app is excluded even from the session counting our web metrics perform. In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple; we receive confirmation that a purchase happened, never your payment details or identity.
Donation links on our site go to Stripe-hosted checkout pages. Payment details are handled by Stripe and never touch our servers.
The game is suitable for general audiences and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
If the game ever adds something this policy doesn't cover — advertising on the website, for example — we'll update this page first and change its effective date. This page is the single, current statement of what the game does.
